What is .cmd file?
The files with the .cmd extension are the batch file that contain a series of commands that are executed in order. It was introduced with Mac NT, but can be run by DOS as well. A .CMD file is similar to a .BAT file, but is run by CMD.EXE instead of COMMAND.COM.
Since CMD files are saved in plain text, they can be viewed and edited with a text editor.
