What is .GAL file?
Biological data file created in the GenePix Array List (GAL) format; contains the names and locations (sector, row, and column) of "features" on a on a microarray slide; used for capturing flourescent spots on microarrays in biological experiments and can be used for quantitative analysis.
GAL files use the tab-delimited, plain text format specified in the Axon Text Format (.ATF files). They are often generated from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets by exporting the spreadsheet to a tab-delimited text file and then renaming the file extension to ".gal."
