QXD stands for QuarkXPress Document. It is the extension used for the desktop publishing document created using QuarkXPress 5 or earlier. It contains formatted text and images as well as page layout properties. It can be used to create page layouts for newspapers, magazines,brochures, books etc. Important: .QXD file extension was replaced with .QXP in QuarkXPress versions 6 and later by Quark.
